Introducing the New Apple iPad

Categorized: Uncategorized | No comments

With the recent announcement of Apple’s iPad, it is fair to say that it deserves a Review. The much talked about iPad is very similar to the iPhone or iPod touch, just a larger version. The Operating System used on the iPad is the same as the iPhone, not the MacBook. What this means is it is missing a couple key features such as Flash and Java. Although, for some this is not a deal breaker. The up side of the iPad using the same OS as the iPhone is that the applications available on iTunes will work on the iPad, this is a great feature since you can add an application for almost anything.

The iPad comes in two different models, the Wi-Fi model which starts at $499 an the 3G model which starts at $629. Both models go up from there depending on the storage capacity selected. The storage options available are 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. The Wi-Fi model is able to connect to the Internet through any private or public Wi-Fi connection. The 3G model is able to access the Internet either Wi-Fi or via 3G provided by AT&T at around $30 a month with no contract.

The iPad is a fairly good size at only 1.5 lbs. for the Wi-Fi model an 1.6 lbs. for the 3G model. The screen is a 9.7″ LCD backlit glossy display that is also multi-touch. It comes with a high-performance Apple A4 1Ghz along with a battery that lasts up to 10 hours. Connections on the iPad include 30-pin dock connector, 3.5mm stereo headset jack, built-in speaker, microphone, and the 3G model also has a slot for a SIM card.

Overall, the iPad has many great features and is offered at a reasonable price. There are many useful accessories with the iPad such as scratch proof iPad cases and covers and even iPad solar chargers!
