Christian Words of Encouragement

Categorized: Uncategorized | No comments

Guilt and shame are about the most disempowering emotions out there. These feelings go beyond just feeling bad or feeling down. Guilt and shame cause heaviness in your life that blankets your heart and soul. Guilt and shame make you feel worthless and depressed. Guilt and shame cause you to feel inherently wrong or flawed and leave you feeling like there’s nothing you can do to change it.

Other people might tell you some Christian words of encouragement like to accept Jesus into your heart and repent. These principles are true. But healing from guilt and shame requires remembering who you are and the power of God to help you. The encouragement poems I write are about how you heal guilt and shame requires an acknowledgement that while you are not perfect, you are deserving of the Lord’s help. There is nothing wrong with you. There is nothing about you to inherently feel guilt or shame about.

The love of God is available to you at any moment. It is always present, always there, always right at your fingertips. All you have to do is open you heart the tiniest fraction, and His love will flood your heart like a dam ready to burst. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or haven’t done or how heavy your guilt and shame feel.

Love is the answer. Love is the healing anecdote. And you are love. Love is filled within you. Shame and guilt are the lack of love’s presence caused by shutting off your heart. You can begin to heal and let go of your heaviness. Love is pounding on your door, but it can’t get it in until you open your heart. Remaining closed is the sure path to continue spiraling downward to spiritual death. Opening your heart just a tiny bit is the key to allowing hope and love back into your life and to releasing forever your shame and guilt.
